Hotel Maakunta hides inside it´s sturdy walls many secrets and stories and one of them is a great love story. 1953 in a party in Kalastajatorppa Tabe Slioor met at that time still married mayor Erik von Frenckel. That was the start of a public secrecy and years long love affair. They became a sensational public couple of the 1950s. The story tells that they were a familiar sight also in Hotel Maakunta.
